Plum Smoothie

by Keesha

My refreshing plum smoothie is a sweet and healthy summer drink that is quick and easy to prepare. It is not only nutritious but also extremely tasty. I’m adding ginger to enhance the taste but you can also use cinnamon or cardamom. For this recipe, I am also adding orange juice to the smoothie. You can customize the recipe by adding dairy milk or almond milk instead of fruit juice. I am also adding plain yogurt to make sure that the smoothie is creamy. You can alternatively add a frozen banana.

It is important to freeze the plums, otherwise, the smoothie will not have the right consistency. Slice the plums into two halves and pit them. You can use the tip of a kitchen knife to loosen the pit. Cut the plums into chunks or wedges. Store the pieces of plums in the refrigerator. You do not have to peel the skin of the plums because they add a nice flavor and color to the smoothie.
