Quick Homemade Air Fryer Churros

These air fryer churros are crispy, fluffy, and way easier than the classic deep-fried version. A lighter twist on a favorite dessert that still delivers all the churro magic.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Churros

For the Dough: Water, sugar, salt, butter, flour, and eggs create a soft, rich base.

For the Chocolate Sauce: A combination of sugar, water, chocolate, and cornstarch yields a smooth and silky dip.

Easy Churro Variations

How To Store Golden Brown Homemade Churros

Store leftover dough in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat cooked churros in the air fryer at 370ºF for 5 minutes to restore crispiness.

How To Store Your Chocolate Sauce

Simply pour it into a clean, odor-free container and store it in the refrigerator for 3–5 days. The same goes for caramel sauce and homemade dulce de leche.

Keesha’s Tips & Tricks

  • Use a Large Piping Bag: Start with a large piping bag to avoid refilling halfway through. Reusable cloth piping bags work well for thick dough. Just be sure to clean and dry them properly after use.
  • Give Them Space: Crowded churros steam instead of crisp, so leave room between them
  • Coat While They’re Warm: As soon as they come out, I toss them in cinnamon sugar. It sticks best while they’re warm.

FAQs about Air Fryer Churros

It’s not a must, but it helps give that classic churro look and texture. A large star tip makes the ridges that hold onto all that cinnamon sugar.

This usually happens if the air fryer wasn’t hot enough or if the basket was overcrowded. Preheat and give them space to cook evenly.

I don’t recommend it. Powdered sugar melts on warm churros and doesn’t give the same texture or flavor as cinnamon sugar.
