This is the perfect 6-ingredient breakfast that is fun to make and has a multitude of variations. It is super easy, relatively quick, and loaded with all the nutrients you need to get your day started!
Firstly, preheat your oven to 360ºF (180ºC). Line a baking sheet with a silicone sheet or non-stick baking paper. Set these aside.
Next, cut your bread into 6 slices of about 3/4 to 1-inch in thickness. You can use any type of bread that you'd like.
Cut a 1 1/2-inch (4cm) hole in the center of each slice of bread. If you are working with very large slices, you can make multiple holes.
Next, spread some margarine or butter over one side of the slice.
Place the slices buttered-side down onto the lined baking tray.
Bake these slices for about 5 minutes in your preheated oven.
Prepare the other elements
While the slices of bread are doing their initial toasting, prepare the bacon and eggs.
Fry the bacon pieces until they are done to your liking. Drain the excess oil on a piece of paper towel.
Assemble and bake the filled bread
Once the bread slices have started toasted, flip them over.
Add one slice of bacon into each hole. Crack an egg into the whole as well. If you have smaller or multiple holes, you can beat the egg and divide it between them. You may need to use more eggs.
Sprinkle some sea salt and pepper over each egg-and-bacon-filled hole. Add some grated Parmesan as well.
Place the slices of bread back inside the oven and allow them to toast for 15-20 minutes or until the eggs are completely cooked.
The remaining pieces of bread can be toasted for 5 minutes.
