Ingredientes

  • 8 small potatoes (Irish variety if available)
  • 1 – 1 ½ cups water (for flour mixture) for flour mixture
  • 3 limes juiced
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup gram flour (chickpea flour)
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric
  • a pinch of salt

Optional Toppings

  • Diced red onions
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Potato dumplings
  • Bhajias
  • Tiny beef skewers
  • Fried meatballs

Instrucciones

  1. Peel and cube the potatoes. Place in a pot, cover with water, add lime juice, and bring to a boil. Cook for about 5 minutes, then set aside.

  2. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, gram flour, turmeric, and salt. Slowly add the water, whisking until smooth and lump-free.

  3. Transfer the flour mixture to a pan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens.

  4. Stir the drained potatoes into the flour mixture and cook for another 5 minutes. Let it simmer gently for a few more minutes until everything blends together.

  5. Ladle the porridge into bowls. Add your choice of toppings, from boiled eggs to bhajias, and finish with fresh coriander. Serve hot.
