Ingredientes

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cups cornmeal flour or maize meal

Instrucciones

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.

  2. Stir in the cornmeal slowly, reduce heat to medium-low and continue stirring regularly, smashing any lumps with a spoon until it becomes thick and smooth about 15 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Turn the pan on a plate and leave it covered until you serve it.

  4. Slice it into pieces as if you would cut a cake. Or form round pieces with your hand and serve. You can enjoy ugali with vegetables like sukuma wiki or your favorite piece of meat or fish.

Notas de la Receta

Ugali can also be prepared from millet flour or sorghum. You can also add some salt to it to add some taste.
