Ingredients

  • 10 carrots
  • 8 oranges
  • 2 pieces of ginger (1 1/2-inches each)
  • 1 lemon
  • Mint leaves, optional

Instructions

Prepare the ingredients

  • To start, you can prepare your ingredients. Make sure they are all washed with clean water before preparing them.
  • Start by removing the tops and tails of the carrots. You don't have to peel them. Just scrub them clean.
  • Next, peel the oranges. Have a look at my video to see what the best technique is to use. This method also removed the pith, which often creates a bitter flavor.
  • Cut the oranges into quarters and remove the inside pith (white stringy stuff).
  • Next, use a small teaspoon to peel the two pieces of ginger. Once peeled, you can cut them up into a few chunks.
  • And finally, slice the lemon in half and juice each piece very well. You want to have as much lemon juice as you can.

Make the juice

  • Add the carrots, oranges, and ginger pieces to a juicer. Only add small amounts at a time to allow the juicer to work effectively.
  • After all the ingredients have been juiced into the jug, add the lemon juice and stir it in well.

Finish off the carrot and orange juice

  • These steps are completely optional and will only be enjoyed by some people. If you don't like pulp you can strain the juice.
  • Allow the blended liquid to run through a fine-meshed strainer.
  • Then if you'd like, add some leftover pulp back into the juice. It is a technique you can use to control the amount of pulp you have in your juice.
  • Once you are happy with the consistency and flavor of your refreshing juice, serve it immediately.
