Ingredients

  • 2 Sheets of puff pastry
  • ½ cup Pesto sauce
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • egg forkn or olive oil wash (for wash)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out the 2 puff pastry sheets into rectangles. Spread ½ cup of pesto sauce evenly over one sheet, covering them completely. Sprinkle ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese on top for a flavorful layer.
  • Cut each pastry sheet into triangle shapes to resemble Christmas trees. Carefully roll each triangle from the base to the tip, then twist to form a tree-like shape. Place the shaped trees on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
  • Whisk one egg and lightly brush it over the pastry trees for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the pastries puff up and turn golden brown.
  • Allow the trees to cool slightly before serving. Arrange them on a serving platter for a festive presentation. These are perfect with dips like tangy tomato sauce or a creamy garlic aioli.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in an oven preheated to 200°C (400°F) for a few minutes until warm and crispy. Alternatively, use an air fryer at the same temperature to quickly restore their crunch.
