Ingredients

For the glass tims

  • Lime juice or water
  • Festive hundred and thousands (for a sweet shot)
  • Tajin seasoning (for authentic, savory shots)

For the candy shots

  • 4 ounces white unflavored tequila
  • 2 ounces watermelon schnapps
  • 4 dashes hot sauce, optional for a fiery taste
  • Watermelon or lime wedge, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the glass rim

  • Get 4 shot glasses ready and make sure they are clean.
  • Place the lime juice or water on a flat plate. Place the festive hundred and thousands (or tajin) in a separate bowl or plate.
  • Dip the rim of the shot glass in lime juice or water. Make sure it's covered well.
  • Then, dip the covered edge in the hundreds and thousands or other garnish.
  • Make sure the rim is covered well. Then, clean up any messy edges.
  • Repeat the process until all your glasses have been garnished.

Make the candy shots

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, watermelon schnapps, and hot sauce (optional).
  • Add some ice into the shaker.
  • Shake the shot ingredients together for about 10 seconds.
  • Then, strain the liquid into the shot glasses (without the ice).
  • You can garnish your shots with a small watermelon wedge or lime wedge.
